Orlando Health earns highest quality rating from STS

Excellent care to patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) and aortic valve replacement with coronary artery bypass surgery (AVR+CABG) has earned Orlando Health an Overall 3 Star Rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

The 3 Star is the highest rating a hospital can achieve. It is based on STS Adult Cardiac Surgery Database participant outcomes from January-June 2018.

As an early adopter of LUMEDX’s HealthView Analytics (HVA) platform, which provides meaningful insights along with focused performance-improvement consultation services, Orlando Health is dedicated to quality.

“Our team remains committed to providing the best cardiovascular surgical care to our patients,” says Jeffrey Bott, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon at the Orlando Health Heart Institute. “It is a privilege to be recognized by peers for the ongoing, day-to-day initiatives to deliver excellent outcomes.”

Renowned for its cardiac, cancer and surgical care for children and adults, Orlando Health is one of Florida’s most comprehensive private, not-for-profit healthcare networks. It is made up of six wholly-owned hospitals, two partnership hospitals and a skilled nursing facility, serving approximately 1.8 million residents with 2,295 beds. It is also Central Florida’s first designated teaching hospital.

Orlando Health has also been using LUMEDX’s physician structured reporting and image management solutions since 2013. This, along with registry solutions, complements HVA’s ability to monitor, measure and improve all aspects of its cardiovascular service line, as well as identify variation in care and find opportunities to improve outcomes and reduce costs.
