What is the ApolloLX Upgrade?
All customers are being upgraded from the Apollo Advance application to the new and improved ApolloLX application, which includes a modernized user interface and real-time validation to ensure accuracy and completeness, as well as enhanced user input forms that promote data entry efficiency. It will start with the STS Adult Cardiac Surgery Database revision 4.20 and continue as other major registry revisions are released.

When is this happening?
Now. All customers must upgrade from the Apollo Advance application to the new and improved ApolloLX application before the release of the STS Adult rev 4.20.

Is this upgrade mandatory?
Yes, for the STS Adult 4.20 rev. If you do not install ApolloLX, you will be out of compliance, LUMEDX will not be able to submit STS data for version 4.20, and LUMEDX will not be able to provide STS Adult product support.

Are other registries affected?
Only the STS Adult registry is affected right now, but all future registry revisions will be delivered in ApolloLX. None are currently scheduled.

What about Apollo Advance?
All your other registry software will remain in Apollo Advance until a major revision is released. Apollo Advance and ApolloLX use the same database to display and store data. The data repository (database) remains unchanged.

Will we need to keep Apollo Advance functional alongside ApolloLX for now?
Yes, if you have other registries. The other exception would be if you are resubmitting STS Adult data from previous periods, you will still use Apollo Advance.

Can LUMEDX help with installation?
LUMEDX is offering no-cost assistance to anyone who needs it. Click here to choose a time slot from the calendar. A member of our technical team will contact you beforehand to obtain additional information and make sure you are prepared to install ApolloLX during the time slot that you have chosen.

What is the Performance Health Check?
The Performance Health Check is a free system evaluation we're offering to all our customers as part of our efforts to ensure everyone is getting the most out of their LUMEDX software and cardiovascular data. It will include the identification and removal of database errors, as well as speed SQL and application performance checks.

If you get help installing ApolloLX, the Performance Health Check will be done as a part of that service; there's no need to sign up for one separately. But if you are handling the upgrade in-house, please schedule a time for your Performance Health by clicking here.

Do we have to switch from Analytics Manager (AM) to the new HealthView Analytics (HVA) right now?
It is not necessary to transition from AM to HVA at this time, but it is recommended. Hospitals can continue to use AM for all registries but are urged to upgrade to the more intuitive and user-friendly HVA as soon as they are able, as all future registry revisions will require ApolloLX and HVA.

How does HVA compare to AM?
HealthView Analytics improves on Analytics Manager reports in multiple ways. For end users, HVA provides an easy-to-use mechanism to get to the data they need to do their jobs. It is intuitive and gives users the ability to drill down to the lowest level of hierarchy.

As a build tool, HVA provides an enterprise class business intelligence tool that scales very well. It is easy to learn, but incredibly powerful. Users who can work with Excel and pivot tables will find the transition to HVA very easy.

Can HVA be deployed in a Citrix environment?
All deployment options, including Citrix, are supported. HVA is web-based architecture completely hosted in the cloud. With a very small data gateway that is installed behind your firewall to consume that data, everything you do from it will be accessed securely through the web.

Is switching from AM to HVA mandatory?
It will be eventually, because Analytics Manager is developed on a platform that is no longer supported by Microsoft. HealthView Analytics is built on top of an industry standard analytics platform, Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI), so it will be updated periodically by Microsoft. HVA runs in the Azure cloud and is a SaaS product, therefore LUMEDX will manage all upgrades and updates in a central location. Microsoft has extensive security built into their Azure platform and LUMEDX is certified under the international ISO 27001 standard and undergoes yearly audits by the international governing body.

What if we don't have Analytics Manager or any analytics?
HVA is a perfect entry point for new analytics users as the hosting model allows you to concentrate on using your data while LUMEDX manages the data and the application for you. For information, visit www.lumedx.com/healthview-analytics.

What about the customizations created in Apollo Advance for the STS Adult Cardiac registry?
They will have to be recreated in ApolloLX using Visual Studio. The LX Toolkit will not work with STS 4.20.

Do I have to recreate the customizations on my own?
No, not if you are a SaaS client. LUMEDX will recreate customizations for our hosted clients at no charge. You will be asked to document each one of your customizations before the work can be performed.

I have customizations, but what if I am not a SaaS client?
On-prem clients can recreate customizations on their own. To do so, they will need to acquire Microsoft’s Visual Studio. LUMEDX does not provide this development software, however, we held training webinars in June to provide practical instruction on making the customizations we believe will be most common. You can learn more or view the recordings of those webinars here.

What if I need LUMEDX’s help with customizations?
Some simple customizations will be recreated by LUMEDX for no charge. More complicated ones may be recreated at a discounted rate. Please contact your Client Success Manager to assess your individual customizations.
