EHR Incentive Cash Climbs to $24B

According to Healthcare IT News, EHR incentive payouts have grown to $23.7 billion. As of 2013, only 3 percent of eligible providers in the U.S. have not signed up to participate in the meaningful use program. 

ONC Interoperability Roadmap Cites Privacy, Security Needs

A story in Health IT Security reports that the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has released a new report: "Connecting Health and Care for the Nation: A Ten Year Vision to Achieve Interoperable Health IT Infrastructure." In it, the ONC reveals that it plans to use clinicians, hospitals, vendors, individuals, and other stakeholders to help create the standards for efficient health information flow across different networks. 

Telehealth Gets Big Boost from AMA 

Healthcare IT News reports that the American Medical Association has established guiding principals to ensure appropriate coverage and reimbursement for telemedicine services. 

AMA Inaugurates Dr. Robert Wah as New President 

According to EHR Intelligence, the American Medical Association (AMA) has inaugurated a new president, Dr. Robert Wah. Wah served as chair of the AMA's Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2012 and has served as a member of the House of Delegates for seventeen years.
