As Hospital EHR Adoption Rises, What's Next for Health IT? 

Healthcare IT Analytics reports that EHR adoption has grown, with the majority of hospitals increasing their health IT capabilities and adopting clinical analytics. As of 2014, 76% of hospitals have adopted an EHR system, and 96% have agreed to implement an EHR technology that can attest to meaningful use. 

Report: Healthcare State of Security a Mixed Bag

Healthcare IT News discusses Verizon's 2015 Data Breath Investigations Report, which examined the healthcare vertical and found that there were 234 security incidents and 141 confirmed data loss breaches at healthcare organizations in the past year. Additionally, the percentage of security incidents caused by insider misuse jumped from 15% in 2014 to 20% in 2015. 

Just One-Third of Hospitals IT-Ready for Population Health 

According to a new survey unveiled at HIMSS 2015, just one-third of US hospitals and health systems "indicated that population health tools were in place in their organization." The survey also found that one-fourth of respondents said that they didn't provide any population services such as telemedicine, remote coaching or education of patients, and real-time remote patient monitoring.
